About My Teaching
With over 25 years of professional experience teaching, performing, and recording, I seek to add musical enrichment into the lives of every student whether they are a casual beginner or an experienced performer. It is my mission to give quality music lessons focused on personal excellence and I strive to help every student reach their individual musical goals!
I believe that every student is valuable and I teach much more than just music. All my students get numerous transferrable skills from studying with my unique holistic approach to music teaching. Kids can show marked improvement in school performance and have increased chances of college acceptance and scholarships. Adult students can improve their quality of life by reducing stress by having a creative outlet that balances their work and personal lives. All students can advance their creative problem-solving abilities, achieve higher levels of confidence, and improve their communication skills by studying music!
For students who intend to pursue music professionally, I have a successful track record of helping students achieve acceptance and scholarships to prestigious music schools and conservatories around the country, including: Eastman School of Music, Berklee College of Music, Oberlin Conservatory of Music, USC, UW, Cornish College of the Arts, University of Puget Sound and others. Many of my students have since become professional classical guitarists, signed national touring rock musicians, and engineers/producers at notable recording studios.
I am currently available for lessons online nationally and internationally and in-person in the greater Seattle-Tacoma area. My studio is located at a conveniently centralized location at my studio in Federal Way, WA where I service happy students from all over the Puget Sound including the cities of Federal Way, Auburn, Fife, Milton, Algona, Highline, Des Moines, Kent, Tacoma, Seattle, Gig Harbor, Bellevue, Mercer Island, University Place, Renton, Puyallup, and Issaquah.

♪ All ages any ability levels are welcome!
♪ Lessons are available in-person at my studio or remotely online from the comfort of your own home for students in Western Washington. For students in the United States outside local travel distance and international students outside of the US, online lessons are available at local PST time (GMT-7 or GMT-8).
♪ All musical styles including rock, traditional classical, jazz, blues, fingerstyle, and more. I utilize specialized results-driven programs for each style, focused on exactly what students need to master for success in each genre
♪ Clear long-term lesson plans complete with goals, achievements, and performance opportunities
♪ A song-based teaching system so students learn music they love while building a solid musical foundation
♪ Lessons are customized to the student's interests, goals, and needs
♪ We build a comprehensive musical foundation in a fun computer-based lesson environment that helps develop ear training, understanding of music history, theory, and performance practices
♪ Creativity is encouraged and developed with songwriting, improvisation, and practical application of music theory
♪ Preparation for solo contests, adjudications, master classes, competitions, music AP tests, Royal Schools of Music testing, and college music program auditions is available
